Starting on 1st of july, 2011, the protection of the new plant varieties was taken over by the State institute for testing and Registration of Varieties, within the mening of Art. 38 of the "Law no. 266/2002 regarding the production, processing, quality contol and certification, markeing of seeds and propagating material, as well as the registration of plant varieties, as republished".
